New at Fitness First Angel
Lunchtime Refresh – The ‘Prixe Fix’ of LSM
New at Angel, on Tuesdays and Wednesdays between 13:00 and 16:00.
The Lunchtime Refresh is a 30-minute express session to help refresh your muscles during your lunch break.
Think of it as the ‘set lunch menu’ of massage therapy – you can choose between one of four refreshing 30-min sessions, to relax, refresh & loosen tight, irritating muscles.
Choose from:
‘Desk Worker Neck & Shoulder Refresh’ (focusing on the neck & shoulders)
‘Desk Worker Lower Back Refresh’ (focusing on the lower back & areas that aggravate it)
‘Runners/Cyclist Refresh’ (focusing on the legs)
‘Refresh & Relax’ – Choose a mini upper body, head, neck & shoulders, or reflexology/foot/lower leg session’
Price: During September & October, only £30
What is the Lunchtime Refresh?
A full-hour, deep sport & remedial massage, while incredibly effective, can have the effect of making you feel a little tired or ‘knocked out’* – not the feeling you want when you have an afternoon of work ahead of you!
Our Lunchtime Refresh is a lighter version of a traditional sport and remedial massage.
We still work on re-balancing the body, but in a way that loosens and energises.
The initial assessment and post-assessment are a little bit shorter, and while we still get into muscles that are tight or restricting your movement, we won’t be leaving you feeling sore or too worked on when you walk back to your desk.
How to Book
The lunchtime refresh is available to new and existing clients at the clinic
Choose ‘Lunchtime Refresh’ in our online booking (only at Angel Fitness First).
Make sure you choose Wednesday at Angel between 11-2, and add a note ‘lunchtime refresh’.
(please note we aren’t able to accept same day bookings due to coronavirus)
Sample Lunchtime Refresh Session: Desk Worker Neck & Shoulder Refresh
When you arrive, we’ll ask what you’d like to focus on and in this case, we’re assuming you say ‘neck & shoulders for desk workers’.
A brief initial assessment (slightly shorter than if you’re coming for a full hour session) will tell us where you’re carrying most of your imbalances – it may be tension across the chest putting pressure between your shoulder blades, or a forward head position that’s straining the tops of your shoulders.
On the table, Aiden will both work on underlying imbalances (tight front of the body, front of the back) as well as where you might feel muscle fatigue (back of the neck, tops of the shoulders, between the shoulder blades, finishing with some more traditional massage strokes and tapotement to energise you for the rest of the day.
We may discuss some self-care during the session, but the focus is loosening you up and giving you a welcome break in your day.
If you like we can leave some time at the end for a stretch or exercise, or we can save that for a longer session at another time.
Sample Lunchtime Refresh Session: Legs for a Runner or Cyclist
When you arrive, we’ll ask what you’d like to focus on and in this case, we’re assuming you say ‘legs for a cyclist/runner’.
A brief initial assessment (slightly shorter than if you’re coming for a full hour session) will tell us where you’re carrying most of your imbalances – it may be tension in the hip flexors tilting your pelvis forward or thigh muscles affecting your knee.
On the table, Aiden will both work on underlying imbalances (hip flexors, calves, piriformis) as well as where you might feel muscle fatigue (hamstrings, quads, ITB), finishing with some more traditional massage strokes and tapotement to energise you for the rest of the day.
We may discuss some self-care during the session, but the focus is loosening you up and giving you a welcome break in your day.
If you like we can leave some time at the end for a stretch or exercise, or we can save that for a longer session at another time.
*while not everyone feels this way after an hour i.e. many of our clients feel quite refreshed, some of our clients do feel the need to sleep or chill out and definitely aren’t alert to go back to work after an hour session with us.
